Mark Kirkland is a mental health social worker who in his spare time immerses himself in the seas, lochs and rivers around Scotland. He has had a lifelong fascination with the sea and after learning to dive in 2011 soon picked up a camera to fulfil an equally strong creative impulse. His photos have appears in national and international media outlets and he has won a number of national and international competitions including the portrait category of the British Wildlife Photography Awards in 2019 and being named British Underwater Photographer of the Year 2021.
