Dawn Chorus walk, Jenny’s Well

One for all you early birds!

Matthew Smith is leading this walk around Jenny’s Well Nature Reserve to listen to the dawn chorus of birds and record them.

If you don’t already have them you might like to download these apps to your phone:

  • Merlin – for identifying birds by sound and pictures
  • BirdTrack – for recording birds

Meet at 5am, next to the cycle barriers on the path at the end of Jenny’s Well Road (PA2 7BH), at the eastern entrance to the reserve, off Hawkhead Road. Grid ref NS 4994 6271 (as shown by the green walker marker on the map). The path is on National Cycle Route 75 and cycle racks are situated a few minutes further up the path. There is on-street parking on Jenny’s Well Road.

Please ensure that you dress appropriately for the weather. The walk is mostly on good paths with some gentle inclines.
