Biodiversity and planning webinar series

Biodiversity and Planning in Scotland is the theme of the APRS and Planning Democracy Winter Webinar Series. It is partly inspired by the number of enquiries they receive on planning where people express their concern for the potential loss of biodiversity and don’t always feel this is given appropriate weight in a planning decision. Why is this happening and what can we do to change that?

We all know how important access to nature is for people and communities and that we are in a nature crisis. It is important that communities have a say in developments in their area. This series of four webinars, culminating in an in-person day event in March, will hear from experts and those with experience of this in their own communities.

APRS and Planning Democracy are working together on these webinars. They rely on donations to keep their work going and so have a suggested donation for participants, however they don’t want anyone to be unable to attend due to the cost so there are also free tickets available.

The first two webinars are:

  • Monitoring Biodiversity for Planning (Wednesday 6 November, 7-8.30pm)
  • Biodiversity and new development: getting the best results for nature (Wednesday 4 December, 7-8.30pm)
