New Year Activities

If you’ve been inclined to hibernate over the festive period, make a point of coming out for our first meeting of 2023, this coming Thursday 5th January.  Angus Hogg will be talking about birds of the Outer Hebrides and will be certain to inspire us to get out and look at wildlife and plan some outings of our own.   As usual the meeting will be held at the Wynd Centre, Paisley, starting at 7.30pm. Details can be found on our Talks page.  If you haven’t been to meetings for a while make it one of your new year resolutions to come along, we would love to see you.

We also have an outing planned planned for Sunday 22nd January.  If you’ve been over-indulging on mince pies and chocolates, it’s a great opportunity to get out for a walk as well as learning about identifying trees in winter.  We will be returning to Linwood where we had our summer tree walk. Check out details and map on our Outings page. Contact us to let us know you are intending to join us or to find out more about it.

There is also a fabulous opportunity to learn about Lichens.  Dave Mellor is planning to offer a few short (40 mins) zoom talks on Lichens for anyone who wants to get a little bit more info on them.  They will probably be on Wednesday evenings later this month.   It will just be about the easy-to-spot and attractive species so great for beginners. Anyone  interested please get in touch and we will pass on your details to him.
